We had a great turn-out for our first 2025 Saturday Sew-In on January 25 at the Belleview Public Library! Twenty-one members stopped in for short and long visits!
Do you see some of your best-est modern-making friends? Can you identify them?
Patti R. – Peggy L. – Beth S. – Cindy B. – Judy D. – Dee A. – Rosemary V. – Donna P. – Karen T. – Rosemary R. – Lora D. – Courtney S. (with Hazel) – Anne G. – Karen E. –
and… who’s behind the camera?

Beth led a discussion about quilt labels with members contributing information, examples, and samples of how they make labels. Judy D. showed everyone these labels.

Also, for those who want to know, this is the fusible Beth uses to sew and turn a “donut,” and fuse the label to her quilt back.

All the information to include on a label is important to not only identify a quilt, but for future generations who will want to know. It was a great exchange of information!
If you missed our first Sew-In in January, plan now to come to our Saturday, February 22 Sew-In (unless you’re going to QuiltCon in Phoenix!).
Each Sew-In is 10 AM to 4 PM, (though this month the last person didn’t leave until 4:20 PM, and that’s okay!). In February your $3 entree is Tossed Salad with Chicken Strips with a vinaigrette dressing, and Garlic Bread. Or feel free to bring your own lunch.
The Sew and Learn topic is Big Stitch Hand Quilting.
Go here to sign-up for the February 22 Sew-In.
Note! Only ONE person is needed to bring drinks. ONE person is needed to bring sweet treats.
If someone ahead of you has volunteered already, please don’t sign-up to bring more. Also, if you volunteer drinks or a treat, your $3 entree fee is waived.
QuiltCon Awards Ceremony
If you’re not attending QuiltCon in Phoenix, from February 20 through 23, you can still watch the awards ceremony! Just as the MQG offered last year, you can tune-in to see awards presented on Wednesday evening, February 19 at 7 PM (MST) 9 PM EASTERN TIME using this link. Bookmark it now so you’ll be ready to watch.
We’ll see you again soon, at our Saturday, February 8 meeting!
Check our CFMQG Calendar for details!

I’m interested to see if and what you might have planned for World Quilt Day – 3rd Saturday in March.

We don’t have anything planned for March 15 because we keep the third Saturday open so CFMQG members who volunteer to help with the Sumter County 4-H Club have that day to be with the kids. We’re proud of our CFMQG volunteers!
