December Holiday Party

Saturday, December 14, 27 Central Florida MQG members met at the Oxford Community Building for our annual holiday meet-up, snack sharing, and gift swap and steal time. As always, it was wonderful!

Special thanks to our party-planners, Mel, Peggy, and Rosemary. You made the place look festive!

Hors d’oeuvres and sweet treats were plentiful.

After snacking and good conversation, Cindy and Dee, Co-Chairs of our QuiltCon Community Outreach Challenge quilt, shared the finished result of our group effort.

This is A Pathway Through.

From the back…

Next up was our Gift Swap-and-Steal. It was as fun, mean, and amusing as in previous years.

Everyone came away with some selected or stolen piece of quilt-y pleasure – from a book or fabric to tools or notions.

A first: one, to-remain-unnamed member, even chose to steal and take back home the gift (a coffee mug) she’d brought!

We concluded our time together with an outdoor group photo,

Members who participated in the Gift Swap-and-Steal showed-off their presents.

Mark your calendar now to attend next year’s Holiday Party, and (favorite) Gift Swap-and-Steal: Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 10 AM!

Though we missed quite a few of our members who were unable to attend to due to other commitments or illness, we hope to see everyone at our January 11, 2025 meeting. A new year means a new agenda of activities!

Reminder: If you haven’t yet paid your 2025 dues ($50) do so before year’s end, so you don’t miss the January 5 newsletter and new 2025 “Member’s Only” website password. Send an email about renewing or joining!
