The April meeting program will be selected QuiltCon quilts, with choices made by our attending members.

Show and Tell
Linda T @blu24berry shared her quilt, Australian Hexies. She based this quilt on a quilt designed by Ebony Love from the Spring 2014 issue of Quilts & More, and used a Hex N More ruler. Linda quilted this on her Bernina 153.

Linda T also shared Wild Geese. She made dozens of flying geese from scraps, varying the sizes and putting them together randomly. She quilted this on her Bernina 153 and tried big stitch quilting, as well.

Shloe K shared Ugly Quilt for Emily. Her daughter showed her a picture on Pinterest, and asked if Shloe could make it for her. She created this quilt using only her stash, and it was longarmed by Cindy H.

Bonnie B shared Antelope Canyon. This quilt was inspired by the 2025 Designing Through the Decades Challenge. She quilted it on her Janome QMP.

Bonnie B’s second share was Attic Windows, created using the Mini Quick Curve ruler. She used 80/20 batting and a heavy blanket to make it suitable for Ohio winters. She quilted this on her Janome QMP.

Donna P shared her completed five-drawer caddy tote, made using CFMQG fabric. Many of our members made these totes from a Discord-exclusive pattern.

Linda H had a quilt she made featured in Cindy Grisdela’s book, Freehand Curve Quilts.

Program
Lynette K presented a program on Creative Thinking. She shared segments from a video in the MQG resource library, featuring quilters Ginny Robinson, Rossi Hutchinson, Anne Sullivan, and Eliane Bergman. Topics of discussion included making modern quilts inspired by other crafts, using a design wall, improv-piecing strip quilts, and making Franken-batting. Lynette prepared demonstrations of some of the techniques and led member discussion following each segment.
Shloe K also presented on Pantone’s Color of the Year. This year’s selection, Cloud Dancer, is a shade of white.
