Saturday Sew-In

We had a great turn-out for six hours of sewing time at the Oxford Community Center. The energy was vibrant, and conversations were lively!

On one side of the room, Barb’s 4-H’ers were introduced to quiltmaking. They’re making quilts to enter in the Quilting Guild of The Villages “Showcase” in late January 2025. Beth introduced them to color.

Meanwhile, others in the room were sewing, eating delicious Monster Cookies made by our prez Rosemary, and making happy chatter. CFMQG members who attended were Jane, Judy, Barbara, Bonnie, Rosemary, Linda, Courtney, Cindy, Janice, Mel, Donna, and Dee.

Later, (L-R) Dee, Cindy, and Beth worked together on EQ8, fine-tuning the quilt design they’re creating for our QuiltCon Charity Challenge quilt. Thank you quilters for your commitment to this effort! More info to come!

We hope to see more members at our next Saturday Sew-In on July 27. From 9 AM to noon will be a Kawandi workshops ($20) followed by open sewing from noon to 3 PM. OR, members are invited to join our Executive Committee for our business meeting from 12:30 to 2:30 PM.

We’ll have another busy day at Oxford Community Center!
