A reminder to everyone that there is a Sew In on Saturday, March 25 from 1 to 4 PM at the Oxford Community Center.
Show and Tell included LIVE WELL! by Dana @msddunham, measuring 84 by 106. Dana created her version of Grandmother’s flower garden using 560 hexagons. The fused applique border was inspired by designs of Becky Goldsmith @pieceofcake. Dana quilted this on her Bernina Q20.

Linda @flourishingpalms shared two newly completed items during Show and Tell. Her first item was a COMPLETED project from a workshop taken during QuiltCon 2023. It is called CROSSCUT and measures 21 by 21. Crosscut was a free tutorial by Debbie Jeske @aquilterstable which Linda prepared for her workshop “Reimagine the Classic Tied Quilt” by Laura Loewen @quiltfortco
Linda learned to add ties and make them into felted puff balls. This quilt was quilted with wool ties!

Linda’s second item for Show and Tell was a FREEHAND HALO APPLIQUE PILLOW measuring 21 by 21. This pattern was free from Taster Weekend by Jo Avery @joaverystitches of Thread House Academy. It is an improv applique with a Spoonflower pin as embellishment. Quilted with big stitch quilting using #12 Wonderfil Spagetti.

Shloe @quiltraven shared her version of CONFETTI, a foundation paper pieced scrap quilt along through Stitched In Color.

Our meeting had a full discussion with photos of QuiltCon 2023. Over twenty members were in attendance and they selected their quilt favorite and identified trends they saw on the showroom floor. Members enjoyed seeing the show through their eyes. An important piece of information was shared regarding the quilts entered in 2023. Improv had the most quilts, so, congratulations again to Jane @gonequiltinginFl and Linda @flourishingpalms who both had quilts in that category. Below you see the breakdown.

Reminders:
- “What’s Your Angle” workshop with Karen Estep @sunrayatplay, April 22, 1 openings remains, $20
- Virtual “Watercolor” workshop with Carolina Oneto @carolina_oneto, May 6, $58
