Central Florida Modern Quilt Guild lost a valued member this week due to sepsis. Missy @2quiltingminions was one of those ladies that offered to help out with everything. She asked good questions, presented alternatives and volunteered.

In speaking to others about Missy, we know she will be missed for her “let’s try it” attitude as well as her calm approach to the world. She worked on several of our charity quilts, participated in multiple sew-ins, attended retreats and took on some of the more challenging “behind the scenes” roles within our organization. Recently she was responsible for contacting businesses in the hopes of acquiring donations to support the challenges within CFMQG. Those donations provide a little incentive and a chance to explore other products. Missy utilized her organizational skills keeping track of who, what, when and followed up with a thank you! It’s a mammoth job and Missy smiled as she reported on her successes that all of us benefitted from.
Missy would want us to keep on exploring, trying new things and “just do it.” In talking with Missy about FMQ one time – she said “You just have to try it knowing it will get better.” She laughed and said she was afraid to give it a go, but you never get it right until you try it. I think she said the same thing about Improv and then smiled.
Our sympathies to the Gardner family at this very difficult time.

She leaves a big hole in our chapter. Prayers for Jim and Missy’s extended family.

I didn’t know Missy very well but she did always bring her “lets try it” attitude to the meetings. She will be missed.
