Bring your friends! Our April meeting is only a week away. Folks are hurrying to finish their Architecture Challenge Quilt as the REVEAL will take place during this meeting. Send a photo of your inspiration to Karen before the meeting and she will include it in the slide show!

In addition to the REVEAL there will be discussion on the workshops and lectures attended at Quilt Con 2022. Those that went to Phoenix will share what they learned.
Members that attended the February meeting on Aurifilosophy will have the opportunity to pick up their gifts from Aurifil! Wear your name tags!

The upcoming workshop in June, “Giant Nested Curves” with Daisy Aschenhoug of http://www.warmfolk.com opens for registration. This is a zoom workshop for members on June 25 from 9 AM to 3 PM and costs only $40.

Giant Nested Curves
Combine a variety of precise curves with improv piecing in this day long workshop. With the help of two different kinds of template sets, participants will create their own, unique, improv masterpiece. We’ll discuss various options for piecing the improv slabs, as well as tips for using large and small acrylic or paper templates to create the curves.

At the April meeting there will be a discussion about “Airing of the Quilts” in the Wildwood City Hall Park on October 8. We need a committee for planning and to work with Mel. If there is not enough interest at our April meeting, we will determine if we wish to revisit this at another time. Just know, there will be some discussion on this topic, so come prepared to ask questions and offer ideas.
Sew-Ins Begin!  Our first will be Saturday, May 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  You are welcome to come for all or part of that time.  Thank you, Mel, for arranging our use of the newly renovated Oxford Community Building for us at no charge.  Bring your machines to sew, or just handwork to sit and chat with.  This is a great time to get to know each other better, ask questions, and sharing of general information.  Oxford Community Center is located near the intersection of 466 and 301.  The address is 4027 County Road 106, Oxford, FL 34484.  There is a kitchen area so that you may refrigerate your lunch, or go out to eat nearby.  We are currently in the process of scheduling the remainder of the year for sew-in dates, so standby!

Several items to think about….
2023 Program Ideas – we are collecting suggestions on what YOU want to see as YOUR program in 2023. So put your wish list together and be prepared to offer up a 1) Program Idea and/or 2) A Modern Quilting concept to explore or learn more about.
Everyone has something that they would like to learn more about – what is it? Be prepared to share by the end of April with Karen.
There is also a need for four or five volunteers to meet to form a Program Committee. This group of volunteers will work on creating the program calendar for 2023. A reminder that our mission is about education – this is one area that makes a huge impact on the direction CFMQG goes.

Start thinking about the future of CFMQG today! Our current officer and committee folks change out in March 2023. We are promoting positions by providing JOB SHADOW opportunities. Learn about one or more of the positions that might be of interest to you. Remember – almost all the positions can be shared with a buddy ! If you are curious about the position, time committment, expectations of the position – now is the time to look into it. There is no obligation to take on the role. Needless to say, a group cannot survive without individuals stepping up to help out. The Job Shadow opportunity will provide information, insight and answer questions regarding your desire to make decisions, communicate and move us forward to the next trend in Modern Quilting. Positions to Shadow include: President, Co-President, Treasurer, C0-Treasurer, Secretary, Media Coordinator, Program Coordinator, Membership, Librarian, Challenges, Retreats, QuiltCon Charity Quilt and Program Committee
Sew much news – I cannot wait for the meeting! Remember to wear your name tags. There will be no Show and Tell this month – but wait….those of you bringing your 2022 Architecture Challenge for the REVEAL – you will need to fill out the Show and Tell Form. Everyone else – remember to Sew Modern! Think Modern! Play Modern! and most of all Enjoy Modern!
