Charity Quilt Update

A priority these past few months has been finishing our charity quilt to donate to the local St. Jude Children’s Hospital Fundraiser.

It’s complete, and it’s beautiful! The quilt, along with two coordinating pillows, will be shown at our next meeting, Saturday, April 17, 10 am Lake Miona Park. 

Thank you Pam P. and Jane G. for finishing the quilt.

Pam P. generously donated time and materials to longarm quilt an overall “Soho” design.

The quilt pattern is based on the free Scrap Snap pattern by Kari Vojtechovsky at Quilts for the Making. The rainbow-colored quilt consists of member-donated scraps that were matched with Painters Palette solids.

Batting is Quilters Dream 80/20. Backing is a “Thank You”-themed black and white print from Windham Fabrics that was purchased using chapter funds.

Jane sewed binding to finish it.  

The quilt finishes at 75” X 65”.

It will be donated to “Friends in Hope,” an organization in The Villages that hosts events to raise funds for St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital. Due to COVID-19 protocols, this year’s fundraising auction and golf tournament will be held in October rather than May.

Saturday, April 17 Meeting – Outdoors!
