Seventeen members of Central Florida MQG met at 6:30 pm for our monthly Zoom meeting.
We reviewed several items on the horizon:
- QuiltCon Together is soon! In lieu of an in-person event in Atlanta (as previously planned), QuiltCon will be online February 18-22. It’s not too late to attend the show, and buy lecture and workshops. More information here.
- Because some of our members will attend QuiltCon Together workshops, our Zoom meeting programs for the next several months will be about those workshops and virtual workshops members may be taking individually. Send us an email if you have a workshop experience to share with members.
- The charity quilt being made by members, to be donated to the local, annual St. Jude Children’s Hospital fundraiser, is making progress. Read about it here.
- A 2021 retreat has been scheduled! Mark your calendars now for retreat at Luther Springs, Hawthorne, Florida, November 5-8. It’s hoped that by November many of us will have been vaccinated against COVID-19, snowbirds will be in residence, and everyone will be ready to play together! More information to come.
- Members participating in the Modern Scrap Quilt Challenge should note that the new deadline for completing challenge quilts is Saturday, April 10 when we will have a 10:00 am, in-person, outdoor meeting at Lake Miona Park. Challenge information can be found here.
- Those who are participating in the Modern Scrap Quilt Challenge are invited to submit progress photos by Friday, February 12, for an upcoming blog post. We’ll share pictures and information about what everyone is doing! Email information here.
