January 11, 2021 Meeting

It was great to see 18 of our members (well, most of them showed their faces) on Monday’s 6:30 pm Zoom call.

January 11 happens to also be the birthday of our president, Karen!

We (faintly) heard the birthday song while members flashed words from their screens. Thank you to:

  • “Happy” Rosemary
  • “Birth-” Cindy
  • “day” Beth
  • “to” Jane
  • “you” Peggy
  • and “dear Karen” Karen T.

for participating! We all wish you the best, Madam President Karen!

Show and Tell featured makes by seven members. Click here or image below to go to slide show.

Besides viewing Show and Tell from our blog, follow @centralfloridamqg on Instagram, and our hashtag #cfmqgshowandtell to see everyone’s quilts and detailed information about each.

Anytime before our next Zoom meeting, Monday, February 8, 2021 at 6:30 pm (we are NOT yet meeting in person), please take pictures of your modern makes, and email them to centralfloridamqg@gmail. Thanks!

Block-of-the-Month (BOM)

Two members shared pictures of their Saturn block #13 and Candyland block #14 in our Block-of-the-Month (BOM). These may also be seen on Instagram #cfbom Click here or on the image below to go to BOM slide show.

2021 Scrap Quilt Challenge

We also discussed our Central Florida MQG Scrap Quilt Challenge that has been presented by Beth and is due at our March meeting. We hope lots of members participate! Find details here, including a print version of the challenge that can be downloaded.

Charity Quilt

Jane, Rosemary, and Lynette are leading our effort to make a quilt to donate to St. Jude Children’s Hospital annual raffle fundraiser. This team has decided we’ll make the Snap Scrap Quilt by QuiltsfortheMaking. Members who indicated a willingness to participate have already received or will soon receive a block-making kit with detailed information. If you would like to help make the quilt, email Rosemary. Thanks!

See you February 8 on Zoom!
